Rackstor UK Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website and our quoting, installation and aftercare processes. We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. What we collect
- Identity and contact data — name, employer, email, phone, postal address.
- Site survey data — drawings, photographs and measurements you share with us.
- Transaction data — orders, invoices and payment confirmations (we never store full card details).
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, via privacy-respecting analytics.
2. Lawful bases
- Contract — to quote for, deliver and install your order.
- Legal obligation — accounting, tax and health-and-safety record-keeping.
- Legitimate interests — improving our products, securing the site, preventing fraud.
- Consent — marketing emails, non-essential cookies (you may withdraw at any time).
3. How long we keep it
Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months. Contractual and accounting records are retained for 7 years as required by HMRC. Marketing consent is reviewed every 24 months.
4. Sharing
We share data only with vetted processors (delivery partners, hosting, email, accounting) under written contracts. We do not sell personal data and we do not transfer data outside the UK / EEA without appropriate safeguards.
5. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any right email office@rackstor.co.uk. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
6. Security
We use TLS, access controls and encrypted backups. Staff handling personal data are trained in UK GDPR.
